Every two years, the onCe festival freiburg celebrates the diversity and richness of improvised performance art. Produced by bewegungs-art freiburg, the festival offers workshops, evening performances and a dynamic supporting program with local and international artists of Instant Composition.

WHAT IS INSTANT COMPOSITION
Instant composition has a tradition in Freiburg that goes back to the 1980s and for which it is internationally renowned.

Within the performance art of improvisation – or in other words the ART OF A MOMENT IN TIME - a piece is created before the eyes of the audience. The actors simultaneously create material, compose and perform. In the moment, they follow impulses and shape them through space and time. INSTANT COMPOSITIONS unfold which are unpredictable, lively and unique in their content and expression.
