“The development of language is part of the development of the personality, for words are the natural means of expressing thoughts and establishing understanding between people.” ~Ruth Montessori
The same way we spend years developing our skills to communicate clearly and poignantly through words, we must also dedicate time and effort to develop our skills in communicating through movement.
As an artist, I continue to dedicate a large part of my work to Improvisation and Instant Composition (Instant Composition is the practice of composing a piece instantaneously for an audience).
Improvisation
When I returned to study dance, I was drawn TIP – School for Dance, Improvisation and Performance for the art of Improvisation. I realized through improvisation one developed not only the ability to create perfect forms and carry-out complex sequences but connected the movement to the inner parts of our being and developed one’s intuitional ability for creation and composition.
If you are interested to know more about the work of Improvisation, I encourage you to read a set of poems I wrote on my blog >> Poetry of an Improvisation
