“Unwritten Bodies: Seen and Unseen”
A German-Indian project about bodies, identity, and social conditioning. Rebecca Mary Narum (DE/USA) and Purnendra Meshram (IN) encounter each other with their visibly different bodies and experiences. Using contact improvisation, real-time composition, and a transparent plastic sheet as a symbol of social “skins,” they explore closeness and difference, visibility and withdrawal. The project invites the audience to actively participate—not only as spectators, but as co-researchers. In open rehearsals, interactive workshops, and performances “Unwritten Bodies” becomes a space for encounter. Sound (Fiona Combosch) and film (Satya Gautam) expand the dialogue on a sensory level. This artistic research is not a finished product, but a living, site-specific process: an invitation to encounter oneself and others anew in the space between imposed identity and freedom.

Funded by the Goethe Institute, Kulturamt Freiburg, Friedrich Stiftung, Schopf 2, Tanzzentrale der Region Nürnberg e.V..
